In Saturday, March 21st's installment of The Gene Pool...

... I liked the inclusion of the Howls and Growls. I had not heard of this until Friday, and found it interesting that they showed up the next day.

... I liked that Tina addressed Lost's Jack directly when she said "Fuck you, Jack."

... I was indifferent to the majority of the Parting Shots.

... I liked D's response to The Gene Pool's complaint about the beer.

... I did not like that The Daily Top List was "kind of in code."

In Monday, January 12th's installment of The Gene Pool...

... I liked that the Gene Pool broke up with Girl Wendy by singing War's "Why Can't We Be Friends?" Ah, Gene Pool. What else is there to say?

... I did not like that the Gene Pool decided to break up with Wendy in the first place, however. Biters can be fun.

... I liked that the Gene Pool got scared when the friends of Girl Melody notices him following them at Winn Dixie, he ran "away back to the parking lot." Ah, Gene Pool. What else is there to say?

... I liked that Girl L.J. ran up out of breath with a big smile on her face, and her aim was to break up with the Gene Pool. Youch.

... I was indifferent to Paul's favorite memory of Girl L.J.

... I liked that the Gene Pool refers to the fall of his junior year of high school as "the fall of my junior year" in the story about Girl Emily. Very y'at.

... I liked that the Gene Pool took Girl Emily to a movie and invited Minkus along. This likely explains why she ignored him the next week. "The weirdest thing"? Hardly.

... I did not care for Paul's favorite memory regarding Girl Emily. I cannot really figure out what may or may not have been going on there, nor do I care to try.

... I did not like that Girl Bonnie teased the Gene Pool and then dropped him following her famil vacation, likely to Gulf Shores.

... I liked that the Gene Pool took Girl Bonnie to see Planet of the Apes and played Matchbox Twenty in the car.

... I liked that Paul was consulted regarding the Gene Pool's girls. And that all of Paul's favorite memories were highlighted in pink.

... I liked Monday's Tina Cursing Corner for the most part, especially, "Fuck! Motherfuck me."

... I liked the Gene Pool's reference to TBS, and that it seems to be his indication that he thinks something is humorous.

... I liked the lead-up to Gill and Brian's wedding. That was good weekend, and it's fun reading about the anticipation. Also, this line was good: "Probably will get drunk, too."

... I liked the parting shots, especially "Bake: That's why he doesn't need a girlfriend."

Updates coming soon!

To all you fans, please rest assured that Poolside (feat. Bob Wardlaw) will be updated soon. The author promises not only to catch up with what he has missed, but stay current from that point forward. Your patience is appreciated. Thank you for your support.

In Sunday, January 11th's installment of The Gene Pool...

... I was amazed at the following: "We played Parcheesi. Never heard of it? I'm not shocked. I don't think it's a very well-known game." Who has not heard of Parcheesi? Does the Gene Pool think he is breaking new ground here?

... I did not care for the play-by-play Parcheesi comentary.

... I did, however, like the 3-and-1 part of the story.

... I like the Tina Cursing Corner, especially, "I'll just tell them the fucking thing was delicious."

... I did not like that the TCC is back to all "fuck"s, however.

... I did not like that Tina has a sharp pain in her thigh. How is going to fucking work out? (By the way, Gene Pool, it's "work out" in this case, not "workout." It's a verb, not a noun.)

... I mostly liked the diatribe on compound sentences. I did not like what the Gene Pool did with the pizza sentence, however. I would have left it as one sentence and simply restructured: "I like pizza, but I don't like too many toppings or thick crusts," instead of "I like pizza, but I don't like too many toppings. I also don't like thick crusts."

... I liked that Kelly got pink eye.

... I liked the Daily Top List, but I was confused. What is the obligation with No. 4?

In Saturday, January 10th's installment of The Gene Pool...

... I did not like that the Gene Pool posted Saturday, January 10th's installment sometime between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 11 but somehow the post's time stamp says "Saturday, January 10, 2009." I do not appreciate this deception.

... Overall, I liked the Gene Pool's assessment of king cakes, but I think Gambino's confections are about on par.

... I also liked the Gene Pool's commentary on crawfish. I agree: They are good.

... I really like the thematic element in the latest Tina Cursing Corner. The beauty of three instances of "Fuck. What the fuck?" cannot be diminshed.

... I was indifferent toward the TV Week In Review.

... I was mostly indifferent toward the Parting Shots.

... I did not care for the line, "The first of many memorable Romo blowing-it moments." Remember, Gene Pool. 101 years and counting. (On a style note, it should have been "Romo-blowing-it moments."

... I likes the rest of the Daily Top List. Interesting subject matter.

In Friday, January 9th's installment of The Gene Pool...

... I liked the Gene Pool's comments regarding the service at the Apple store. It's nice to see something positive.

... I liked the individual explanations for the songs on the Saints mix tape. I expecially enjoyed that the Gene Pool played the 15-song compilation for Tina. I would like to know when this took place.

... I liked The Tina Cursing Corner today. Especially, Tina's apparent obsession with Suzi Ormond and the use of "shit" later in the entry. Way to mix it up again, Tina. Now, let's see if we can start incorporating some other terms.

... I liked that the Gene Pool fessed up and corrected his comment about Milton Bradley.

... I was indifferent to the following: "Brick: He laid down the gauntlet. Brick (then commenting): You never want to carry the gauntlet. Me: Yeah. It's heavy."

... I was (mostly) liked the Daily Top List. I would have transposed items 1 and 2, however.

In Thursday, January 8th's installment of The Gene Pool...

... I did not care for the Gene Pool's critique of the hamburgers. Who sticks his or her finger through a patty?

... I did not like the Gene Pool's employment of Wikipedia during the Trivial Pursuit contest. Aside from the inherent problem of the aforementioned internet reference (as illustrated with this story: http://www.theonion.com/content/node/50902 ), is that this act slowed down the game considerably. As the Gene Pool complained, "I'm not a big fan of [Trivial Pursuit]. I don't mind the questions being difficult because I use the game as a learning tool. Trivial Pursuit games, however, always drag on and on to the point where I'm begging somebody to win already." The problem with the Gene Pool's assessment is that he constantly interupted the flow of the game with reports from Wikipedia. While I do not devalue the information we learned (or possibly about which we were missinformed through Wikipedia), this seemed to be the most significant consumer of time.

... I am indifferent to the Gene Pool's statement that I failed to mention the Chuck helped me considerably in the creation of "Poolside (feat. Bob Wardlaw)". I do not recall explicitly, but I do thought I mentioned this at game night. Also, it was Chuck who tipped off the Gene Pool to Poolside's existence.

... I especially liked Thursday's installment of "The Tina Cursing Corner." First, it was rather voluminous, which is always a good sign. But even better, Tina employed two "shit"s and the always entertaining "shithole."

... I do not know how to respond to the following: "Two and [1/2] Men wins for best comedy. 'It's about fucking time.'" I don't even know that there is an appropriate response to this.

... I was indifferent to Gene Pool's self-assessment. It was interesting, however.

... I liked the Gene Pool's review of the updated version of ESPN's website.

... I did not care for the Gene Pool's Top List regarding vanity license plates. It appears that the Gene Pool was grasping for straws in Thursday's edition.

...

In Wednesday, January 7th's installment of The Gene Pool...

... I have mixed feelings regarding the oil change story. While it is entertaining, I cannot understand why the Gene Pool continues to get his oild changed at the dealer. When I get my car's oil changed, the most frustrating occurence usually is that I don't have enough time to finish the magazine article I am reading. You know, because the work is finished so quickly.

... I liked that Tina mixed it up again, with a "shit." However, I really enjoyed "3:fucking:30," although I would have written it "three-fucking-thirty," or perhaps "three:fuckingthirty." Probably the latter.

... I liked the story about Mandy. Stories about attentive, hot girls with big tits are always enjoyable.

... I liked this: "The tooth pick slowly spreads all the way. THIS REALLY HAPPENED." If I ever needed a pair of sentences to sum up the author of the Gene Pool, it would be these.

... I did not like that the Gene Pool tipped the waitress 20 percent. Service like that should be compensated according to the value, not the bill.

... I really did not like the Daily Top List. A compilation that includes both Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit? Only the Gene Pool could create one that awful.

In Tuesday, January 6th's installment of The Gene Pool...

... I did not care for the Gene Pool's ridicule of the two fellows in red shirts. It may be possible that they did not plan the wear the same color. It did not warrant two paragraphs.

... I liked the Gene Pool's excitement with the laptop attack, as well as the pride in the delivery of "That one (dramatic pause) connected."

... I was indifferent to the story about Password.

... I liked that Tina is mixing up the language again.

... I liked the Gene Pool's analysis of the Dolphins-Ravens playoff game. Well dissected.

... I liked Jennifer's snarky comment toward the Gene Pool. On that topic, I am looking forward to receiving my first issue of Fat & Sassy.

... I was generally unipressed with Tuesday's Top List.

In Monday, January 5th's installment of The Gene Pool...

... I didn't like that the Genepool discovered this blog so quickly. I also did not like all the talk about me. (by the way, the answer is "a"). Poolside, as well as the Genepool, is about Gene, not me.

... I liked Tina's cursing, as usual, but I was hoping for a little variety. Maybe some more "shits," etc.

... I really, really liked "He got fucking mink out of stole." That may be my new battle cry. Also, "Mom: 'Her fuck up. She fucked up'" was good.

... I did not like Gene's announced issue with the promotion of "American Idol." One, I think it secretly is his favorite show (much like how "Top Gun," although it took him a long time to see it and he has not accepted it as such, is his favorite film). And two, he acts like this is something new to television. And as someone who loves television as much as he does, he should know better.

... I liked the Genepool's assertion about reality television. "American Idol" certainly is no "Boy Meets World."

... I liked the "Parting Shot," other than the Genepool's flubbing of the punchline.

... I did not care for 40 percent of the Genepool's "The Daily Top List." "Home Alone 2" and "Richie Rich"? I think even VH1 would have a problem with that.

... I was indifferent to the Genepool's No. 5 selection in "The Daily Top List." I have seen only fragments of "The Good Son," so I will reserve judgment for now.

In Sunday, January 4th's installment of The Gene Pool...

... I did not like that Gene compared this year's Ravens to last year's Giants, for two reasons. 1) I hate the Giants and am still bitter that they not only beat the Cowboys but also went on to win the Super Bowl; and 2) because I also hate the Ravens and was pulling for the Dolphins to go all the way this year.

... I did not like Gene's quoting Celine Dion. Classless. I also did not care for the blatant typo later in that paragraph. He is dropping the ball.

... I did not like that Gene further cursed Miami by voting for/against/for Baltimore.

... I liked Tina's cursing especially yesterday. It's nice to see her mixing it up with a couple "shits." F-bombs usually have the monopoly.

... I liked the story about Mr. Suhor. Touching.

... I was indifferent to the Parting Shot regarding Chad Pennington's balls.

... I did not like Gene's description of the Dolphins' 62-7 loss to the Jaguars, in which he said "... Dan begging Johnson to let him go out there for the first series of the second half to see if he could start a comeback." What he should have said was "... Dan begging two-time Super Bowl-winning coach Jimmy Johnson to let him go out there for the first series of the second half to see if he could start a comeback."

In Saturday, January 3rd's installment of The Gene Pool...

... Gene was rather verbose today. I have several likes, dislikes, etc.

... I did not like Gene's assertion that John Madden "sucks." While ol' John seems a little confused at times, how can the telestrator's pioneer be described as anything other than "great"?

... I liked Gene's story about falling twice. Anytime Gene is in pain is a good time.

... I did not like that Gene plans to lie to Faren regarding the pizza at Fox and the Hound. Relationships are built upon foundations of honesty.

... I like that Gene is competitive in regard to game night. I hope he is ready to cry on Wednesday or Thursday.

... I did not like the conversation regarding the leap second, because all parties were wrong. An extra second was added (not skipped) to 2008 (not 2009).

... I was indifferent to the story about the lemon/lettuce sandwiches.

... I liked when Tina said "Motherfuck me."

... I did not like that Gene cheats at Clue. Turns out that he is both a cheater and a liar.

In today's installment of The Gene Pool...

...I liked the part about the quote I had regarding TBS.

...I liked the part about the hot girl at the Mac store.

...I liked Tina's cursing.

...I disliked the part about Chuck and Gene in the bathroom. Why do you have to sing, Gene?

...I disliked the part about Kaila having smart friends.

...I am neutral on Item No. 3 in the "Daily Top List" section.
